What is this course about?

In the face of rising motorcyclist accidents in Puerto Rico, this free educational module trains safer, more responsible riders. It offers key instruction on defensive riding, protective gear, and legal compliance across three key areas:

Defensive riding and control

Develop technical control of the motorcycle, coordination, and defensive riding techniques to anticipate hazards, handle curves, and brake safely in any road condition.

Protective gear and visibility

Learn to choose and correctly use a certified helmet (DOT, ECE, Snell) and full protective gear, along with visibility practices that reduce the severity of impacts.

Compliance and legal responsibility

Learn your responsibilities under Act 22 and Act 107, the rules of the road, and best practices for riding motorcycles safely and responsibly on the road.

What you will learn

Five educational modules based on local and federal standards for safe riding of motorcycles and four-tracks.

Module 01

Fundamentals, Act 22, and Motorcycle Types

Driver responsibilities, rules of the road, legal requirements under Act 22, motorcycle classifications, and pre-trip mechanical inspections.

Module 02

Dress for the Impact — Helmet and Full Gear

Impact absorption, safety certifications (DOT, ECE, Snell), helmet types, full body protection, and visibility on the road.

Module 03

Basic Control and Defensive Riding

Defensive riding techniques, cornering, controlled braking, and special riding conditions: rain, night, and wind.

Module 04

Human Factors and Accident Response

Recognizing impairments, reaction time, emergency protocols, first aid, and the motorcyclist's responsibility.

Module 05

Final Exam and Certification

Comprehensive assessment of all modules. Pass with 70% or higher to obtain your verifiable digital certificate with a QR code.
